DOOR GP-ENCLOSURE 1733813 - Caterpillar

Sudden movement of the machine or release of air under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the air system and brakes.

Start the tractor engine and run the engine in order to pressurize the air system. Stop the engine.

(1) The air tank drain valves are located on the right side of the tractor. The drain valves are located on the floor of the tractor beside the ladder.
Open one of the drain valves until air without water discharges.
Close the drain valve.
Install the bushing and hose assembly from 4C-4890 Hydraulic Test Group to the opening of the drain valve that was used to remove the water.
Connect the hose assembly to the 8T-0849 Pressure Gauge .
Open the drain valve that is connected to the gauge.
Start the tractor engine and allow the air pressure to reach the cut out pressure (827 34 kPa (120 5 psi)).
Compare the pressure gauge on the machine with the test gauge.
If the pressures are more than 105 kPa (15 psi) different, install a new pressure gauge.
If it is necessary to install a new pressure gauge, stop the engine and open the other drain valve. Close the drain valve when the pressure in the air tank has been released.
Do not disconnect the test gauge. The test gauge will be used in other tests.
