PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
The fan, fan pulley, shrouds, and finger guards will be replaced with new parts and two adjustable plate-edges will be added to the tractor cooling package to provide the necessary fan tip clearance.
The fan will be replaced if it is damaged. A new fan pulley is required to generate the required amount of airflow through the cooling system to accommodate the new fan tip clearance provided by the new parts.
Refer to the Service Manual as necessary.
1) Lower the tractor belly-pan and open the top hood.
2) Remove the finger guards, fan pulley, fan, and shrouds from the tractor?s cooling package. It may be easier to remove the fan drive from the engine to remove the pulley from it. Do not discard the hardware used to mount the shrouds. Lay the washer fluid and ether lines out of the way.
3) With the parts removed, inspect the machine and grind two notches in the sheet metal of the cooling package given the approximate dimensions and locations shown below if they are not already present. These notches provide clearance for weld-on nuts on the back of the new shrouds.

4) Install the new 310-8513 Pulley-Fan and install the 310-8571, 310-8572, 310-8574, and 310-8575 Shroud Assemblies (A,B,C,D), as shown below, reusing the existing mounting hardware.
Note that some of the shroud mounting hardware is used to hold some angles for washer fluid and ether lines clipping points. Install these parts also at this time using the images below.
Loop the fan belt around the fan drive, and install the 244-5400 Spider As.-Fan (J).
5) Install and orientate the (2) 310-8586 Plate-Edges (E) to the shrouds using (4) 8T4137 Bolts (G), and (4) 7X7729 Washers (H) as shown below, so that they are snug enough to be held in place. They will be adjusted next.
