At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Drain the coolant only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap from the radiator slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to avoid personal injury.
1. Remove the oil from the engine oil cooler. Remove the coolant from the engine. 2. Disconnect two oil lines (3). Disconnect line (5) from the bottom of the bonnet (1).3. Remove bolts (2) that hold the bonnet (1) to the cylinder block. Remove bolt (4). Remove bonnet (1). 4. Remove the bolts that hold engine oil cooler (8) to tubes (6) and (7).5. Remove bolts (10) that hold the bonnet (9) to the water pump.6. Remove engine oil cooler (8).7. Remove bonnet (9) and the O-ring seals from engine oil cooler (8). The following Steps are to install the engine oil cooler.8. Check the condition of the gaskets used on the engine oil cooler. If the gaskets are damaged, use new parts for replacement. Check the condition of the O-ring seals used in the hose assemblies that were disconnected. If any of the O-ring seals are damaged, use new parts for replacement.9. Install the O-ring seals on engine oil cooler (8). Put clean engine oil on the O-ring seal. Install bonnet (9) on engine oil cooler (8).10. Put engine oil cooler (8) in position on the engine. Install bolts (10) that hold bonnet (9) to the water pump.11. Install the bolts that hold the engine oil cooler (8) to the two tubes.12. Put bonnet (1) in position in engine oil cooler (8). Install bolts (2) that hold bonnet (1) to the cylinder block and the engine oil cooler.13. Connect the two oil lines (3) to the transmission oil cooler. Connect the line (5) of the bottom of the bonnet (1).14. Fill the cooling system.
