Trunnion Assembly Procedure1. Lightly apply 5P0960 Grease to all seal lips and the inner surfaces of bearings (5). Press bearings (5) and trunnion (1) into frame assembly (2). The grease holes in bearings (5) must be in line with the grease grooves in frame assembly (2).2. Measure distance (A) between the face of bearing (5) and frame assembly (2).3. Install shims (6) as required to obtain dimension (A). Dimension (A) equals 0.025 0.005 mm (.0010 .0002 in). The identification marks on shims (6) must be toward the front and in line with the center of the machine.4. Install plate (7) and tighten five bolts (4) two places. The identification marks on plate (7) must be toward the front and in line with the center of the machine. Position upper lubrication fitting (3) downward, and the lower lubrication fitting upward.Front Frame
(8) Tightening torque for eight trunnion cap bolts ... 540 40 N m (400 30 lb ft)Dimension (B) should equal 0.5 mm (.02 in) between trunnion cap and frame assembly after assembly.
