Remove the camshaft gear.
Remove the electronic unit injectors.
Remove all of the rocker arm shafts.
Remove the valve mechanism cover base.
Remove the exhaust manifold.
Remove the fuel filter base.
Remove the fumes disposal group.
Remove the exhaust gas induction valve.
Remove the engine oil filter base.
Remove the wastegate valve.
Remove the boost pressure sensor.

Remove bolt (1) and thrust plate (2) in order to remove adapter (3).
Remove bolts (4) and plate (5).

Remove sealing plate (6).

Remove O-ring seal (8) and O-ring seal (9) from sealing plate (7).

Remove bolts (10).

Use a suitable lifting device in order to remove cylinder head (11). The weight of cylinder head (11) is approximately 293 kg (645 lb).

Remove oil seal (12), water seals (13), and gasket (14), from the cylinder block.

Remove spacer plate (15) from the cylinder block.

Remove gasket (16) from the cylinder block.
Remove O-ring seal (17) from the dowel in the cylinder block. Installation Procedure
Install the cylinder head in reverse order.
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of cylinder head bolts (10) and the washers.
Illustration 9 g01072801Note: The bolts that are marked "x" are 216 mm (8.5 inch) long: 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26. The remaining bolts are 194 mm (7.6 inch) long.
Tighten the cylinder head bolts according to the following procedure.
Tighten bolts 1 through 26 to a torque of 270 15 N m (200 11 lb ft) in a numerical sequence.
Tighten bolts 1 through 26 to a torque of 450 15 N m (330 11 lb ft) in a numerical sequence.
Tighten bolts 1 through 26 again to a torque of 450 15 N m (330 11 lb ft) In a numerical sequence.
Apply a 50/50 mixture of Tooling (B) and clean engine oil onto O-ring seal (8) and O-ring seal (9) prior to assembly.
Apply Tooling (C) onto the threads of bolts (1).
