start by:a) remove radiator 1. Fasten a hoist to the fan. Remove bolts (2). Remove fan (1) from the adapter. The weight of the fan is 45 lb. (20 kg).2. Loosen the bolt that holds the adapter to the shaft approximately .250 in. (6.35 mm). 3. Install tooling (A) on the adapter as shown. Use tooling (A) to loosen adapter (3) from the shaft.4. Remove tooling (A). Remove bolt and washer. Remove adapter (3) from the shaft.Install Fan And Adapter
1. Clean the bore of the adapter and the (tapered) end of the shaft thoroughly. Make sure they are free of all dirt and foreign material. 2. Put adapter (1) in position on the shaft. Install washer and bolt (2). Tighten the bolt to a torque of 265 to 300 lb. ft. (359 to 407 N.m). Hit the bolt with a hammer. Tighten the bolt again to a torque of 265 to 300 lb. ft. (359 to 407 N.m).3. Fasten a hoist to the fan. Put fan (3) in position on the adapter. Install the bolts that hold it. end by:a) install radiator.
