1. Use Tooling (A) in order to lift the front of the machine until the front tires are off of the ground.
When the wheel lean bar is removed the front wheels may move suddenly which may result in injury or death. To prevent this, install the wheel lean armlock pin.
2. Install wheel lean arm lock pin (1) in the wheel lean arm. Install Tooling (B) and lifting slings as shown to prevent the wheel lean arms from moving. Remove bolt (3) and its washer from the pin. Remove cover (2) from the bar. Remove the same components from the other end of wheel lean bar (4). 3. Attach a lifting sling and a hoist to the wheel lean bar as shown. Remove the lock pin. Remove wheel lean arm (4) from two pins (5). 4. Remove four lip seals (6) from the wheel lean bar. Using Tooling (C) remove two bearing sleeves (7) from the wheel lean arm. Note face (8) for installation purposes. The following steps are for the installation of the wheel lean bar.5. Be sure all the parts of the wheel lean bar and mating pins are clean prior to assembly. During the installation of the wheel lean bar, check the condition of the lip seals used in the wheel lean bar. If any of the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. 6. Lower the temperature of bearings (7). Use Tooling (C) in order to install the bearings in bar (4). The bearings must be installed to 8.0 0.5 mm (.32 .02 in) below face (8) of bar (4). Use Tooling (E) in order to install four lip seals (6) in bar (4) until they make contact with the sleeve bearings. The sealing lips must face toward the outside of the bar. Lubricate the sleeve bearings and lip seals with 5P0960 Multipurpose Grease. 7. Attach a lifting strap and a hoist to bar (4). Install the bar on two pins (5). Be sure that face (8) of the bar is facing outward, and the grease zerks are facing up. 8. Install two covers (2) and two bolts (1) in the pins. There must be a minimum of 0.8 mm (.032 in) clearance between face (8) of the bar and covers (2). Grease the bearing joints with 5P-0960 Multipurpose Grease. Install wheel lean arm lock pin (1) in the wheel lean arm. Remove Tool (B) and the two lifting straps.9. Use Tooling (A) in order to lower the machine to the ground. Remove the wheel lean arm lock pin.
