The field service personnel are advised to update their IQAN-run service software by using the "Check for update" function under the "Help" menu of their "IQANrun 2" software. Although the "IQANrun 2" software is forward and backward compatible with older and newer revisions of the application ".ida" file (up to a certain point), the recommendation is a software upgrade to stay up to date with the latest drivers, mainly USB communication drivers for optimized performance with the latest computers. Without the updated software, Cat® dealer/customers will experience less than optimal performance when communicating with the module on a PC using the old USB chipset.

Cat® part numbers for IQAN-MD3 and IQAN-MD3-M15 Controllers (A) Current IQAN-MD3 354-1827 Control Module Display Unit (rev 00) (B) New IQAN-MD3-M15 354-1827 Control Module Display Unit (rev 01)Parker Hannifin Electronic Controls Division will place into phase-out the IQAN-MD3 Display Unit "rev 00". This unit will be replaced with an improved, IQAN-MD3-M15 Display Unit "rev 01".The "Parker" label on the back of the Display Unit is Parker Part Number 20072409. This unit will be placed into phase-out immediately and replaced with the IQAN-MD3-M15 Display Unit, Part Number 20077793.The new IQAN-MD3-M15 units are not compatible with older software versions and must be programmed with newer IQAN Studios v2.63 or v3.17. However, the current IQAN-MD3 units ARE compatible with the newer IQAN Studios v2.63 or v3.17. The flash files must be saved in the New v2.63 or v3.17 format. IQAN Service Technicians should contact your dealer TC regarding this phase-out. Dealer TCs should communicate this information throughout your dealership.
