Accumulated grease and oil on a machine is a fire hazard.Remove debris with steam cleaning or high pressure water, at the specified interval in the Maintenance Interval Schedule or each time any significant quantity of oil is spilled on the machine.
Note: Watch closely for leaks. If you observe a leak, find the source of the leak and correct the leak. If you suspect a leak or you observe a leak, check the fluid levels more frequently than the recommended intervals.

Inspect the hydraulic system for leaks. Inspect the hydraulic tank (6), cylinder rod seals, hoses, and tubes. Also inspect plugs, couplings and fittings. Correct any leaks.Inspect the linkage (7), the blade (10), and the bucket (9) for damage or for wear. Make any necessary repairs.Inspect the lights (4) for broken bulbs and for broken lenses. Replace any broken bulbs and any broken lenses.Inspect the engine compartment (1) for any trash buildup. Remove any trash buildup from the engine compartment.Inspect the cooling system for any leaks, for faulty hoses and for any trash buildup. Correct any leaks. Remove any trash from the radiator (5) .Inspect all of the belts for the engine attachments. Replace any belts that are worn, frayed, or broken.Inspect the final drives (11) for leaks. Make any necessary repairs. Check the oil level if leakage is noticed.Make sure that all covers and guards are securely attached. Inspect the covers and the guards for damage.Inspect the steps and the handholds (8). Clean the steps and the handholds. Make any necessary repairs.Inspect the Tip Over Protection Structure (TOPS) for damage. If repair is necessary, consult your Caterpillar dealer. Tighten any loose bolts.Inspect the operator compartment for trash buildup. Check for trash buildup under the floorplate. Keep these areas clean.Adjust the rearview mirrors (3) (if equipped) for the best operator vision.
