Machine Runout Speed Test
1. Perform the Machine Runout Speed Test.
A. Machine conditions: Transmission FNR switch in FORWARD, select speed range 4, lock throttle at maximum, 100% override fan speed set in Cat ET.
B. Run the machine on level concrete in the FORWARD direction until machine speed stabilizes, document the maximum machine speed and engine RPM. Run the machine in the REVERSE direction, document the maximum machine speed and engine RPM.
C. Was the machine speed greater than or equal to the machine speed limit set in Cat ET?
The default machine speed limit setting is zero. With the default speed setting set, maximum runout speed is 40 km/h (25 mph). If the tire size is not the standard 713 mm (28 inch) radius, use the following formula to calculate speed.
Divide the installed tire size by 713. Multiply the result of the division by 40 kph (25 mph). The result will give the actual machine speed that should be indicated.
For certain markets, the maximum runout speed may be lower than 40 km/h (25 mph) the same calculation as above applies to find maximum runout speed. YES - Perform implement lift and tilt cycle time check located in Table 3.
NO - Proceed to test step 2.
2. Was the engine speed in test step 1. 1800 RPM? YES - Proceed to test step 3.
NO - Proceed to Table 1 test step 15.
3. Has the hystat pump and motor calibration in Cat ET been performed? YES - Perform the Accelerated Loader Lift Test located in Table 5.
NO - Perform the hystat pump and motor solenoid calibrations. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydrostatic System - Test and Adjust" for the hystat pump and motor solenoid calibration procedure.

Implement Cycle Time - Check
1. Perform the Implement Cycle Time - Check. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Implement Cycle Time - Check".
Are lift and tilt cycle times within the specification listed in the Testing and Adjusting, "Implement Cycle Time - Check"? YES - Perform Implement Torque Load Control Test located in Table 4.
NO - Refer to Troubleshooting, "Symptom Procedures" "Hydraulic System" to troubleshoot the hydraulic implement system.
