Remove vibration damper.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Use a suitable lifting device to remove shaft (2).
Remove bolts (1) and shaft (2). The weight of shaft (2) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).

Remove bolts (3).

Use Tooling (B) to remove seal assembly (4) and the O-ring seal.

Install Tooling (A) into crankshaft adapter (6).
Use a suitable lifting device to remove crankshaft adapter (6).
Remove bolts (5) and crankshaft adapter (6). The weight of crankshaft adapter (6) is approximately 97 kg (214 lb).

Use Tooling (C) to remove wear sleeve (7). Installation Procedure
Install wear sleeve (7) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (D) to wear sleeve (7).
