Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.Problem
Reports have been received that there is a noise from the front axle during front axle oscillation on the machines listed above. The front axle noise is due to 495-0675 Pin As or 495-0677 Pin As of the front axle.Since there is more clearance between the flag on the pin and the retainer plate on the frame, the pin turns thereby making a squeal when loaded.Solution
In the event when the pin turns and generates noise, follow the rework procedure below to add weld to the top and bottom of the flag.Rework Procedure
Remove the batteries from the front of the machine to access the front axle retaining pin.

Remove the two bolts (A) from the plate (B), and remove the plate (B) as shown in Illustration ***#i07199225/i07106923.6***.

Measure the top clearance and the bottom clearance between the pin assembly (C) and the retainer (D) as shown in Illustration ***#i07199225/i07106923.8***.
Add the dimensions of the top clearance and the bottom clearance to get the total pin clearance. If the total pin clearance is more than 3.0 mm (0.19 inch), then continue with the rework procedure.
If the pin clearance is more than 3.0 mm (0.19 inch) increase the width of the flag on the pin by welding.

Top weld and bottom weld
In order to create weld on the flag of the pin, support the front of the machine with the stands and pull the pin (C) out enough to give clearance for welding. Add weld across the pin flag to increase the width as shown in Illustration 3.
Using a grinder, grind the welds to the required width to fit the size of the keeper in the frame.

Make sure to keep the clearance not more than 2.0 mm (0.08 inch) in total ( 1.0 mm (0.04 inch) on each side) as shown in Illustration 4.Note: Ensure that the welds are clean, strong, and same width as the pin flag.

Reinstall the plate (B), the two bolts (A) as shown in Illustration 5.
Reinstall the batteries and remove the stands from under the machine.
