Operator Seat (4) Seat position switch "1" (5) Seat position switch "2" The optional 360 degree seat position switches are located at the base of the operator seat. A removable panel (shown removed) provides access to these components. The seat position switches are proximity switches.Machine ECM number "one" monitors the state of seat position switch "1" (4) and seat position switch "2" (5) in order to determine the position of the operator seat.When seat position switch "1" (4) is closed and seat position switch "2" (5) is open, machine ECM number "one" determines that the operator seat is facing machine front. When seat position switch "1" is open and seat position switch "2" is closed, the ECM determines that the operator seat is facing machine rear.When both seat position switches are closed, machine ECM number "one" determines that the operator seat is in a transitional position. In this case, the propel and vibratory systems are temporarily disabled until one of the seat position switches is open.When both seat position switches are open, machine ECM number "one" logs a level "3" fault and disables the propel, steering, and vibratory systems.

Steering mode switch (10) is located on the keypad. This switch provides an input signal to machine ECM number "one" through the CAN. The ECM uses the input from the steering mode switch in order to determine the desired operating condition for the steering system.Steering mode switch (10) toggles between front, coordinated, and automatic steering modes. The steering mode switch, propel lever (9) and the seat position switches determine which drum or drums will be steering.The indicators next to steering mode switch (10) illuminate the currently selected steering mode. Only the top indicator is illuminated when the steering system is in front steering mode. The middle indicator is illuminated when the steering system is in the automatic mode. The bottom and top indicators are illuminated when the steering system is switched to the coordinated steering mode.Actuation of steering mode switch (10) toggles between front and coordinated steering modes. If the switch is held down for 2 seconds, the steering system is set to automatic mode. The steering mode is shown on display (8) every time the steering mode switch is pushed. The pop-up display disappears after 2 seconds. 5 seconds after the last switch was pushed the operational state is saved into memory.
