Engine Identification
Caterpillar dealers need the information from the serial number plate and from the information plate in order to determine the components that were included with the engine. This permits accurate identification of replacement part numbers.Serial Number Plate

The identification plate for the generator set includes the following information: serial number, model number and the rating of the generator set. The generator set consists of the engine and the generator. All generator lead wiring information can be found on a decal that is located on the side panel of the generator's terminal box. If the generator is equipped with a circuit breaker, the decal may be found on the sheet metal of the circuit breaker panel.European Union
