ACTION REQUIRED
Remove affected cylinder heads and reseal with the parts listed in the Parts Needed.
This will require more investigation into the root cause of the coolant or combustion gas leaks. Coolant leaks can come from a torn water seal, a dropped liner insert, or a upper liner band seal failure. Combustion gas leaks are due to the loss of liner projection either from a dropped insert or erroded block under the liner flange from a failed liner band seal.
Apply this program for single cylinder head joint replacement, up to a total of 3 cylinder head joints on the same engine.
If there are more than 3 cylinder head joints that require repair, apply REBE6013 for coverage of an entire engine cylinder head joint re-seal, out of chassis.

Multiply the Part Needed quantity by the number of cylinders being resealed. One gasket kit per cylinder.
The Parts Needed list contains the 117-9315 seal. This seal is only needed when using a 119-5654 Rocker Base.
Only order the 117-9315 seal part number if the 119-5654 rocker base in use on the engine. The rocker base part number is located under the valve cover. Example location for 119-5654 Rocker Base shown in Image1.
The are two gasket kits called out for engines in group one. If you have a 797 engine with the 5YW truck serial number prefix then order the 366-7376 gasket kit. If you have a 797B engine with the JSM truck serial number prefix then order the 377-3868 gasket kit. You only need one gasket kit part number per engine, per cylinder.
