Test Three
Check the resistance and the continuity between the flow tube electrodes and the flow meter.

Remove enough piping or the flow meter in order to gain access to flow tube electrodes (1) .

Remove the cover plate from the transmitter for the flow meter in order to expose circuit board (2) .
Disconnect plug P-100 (3) from the connector for the circuit board.

Set Tooling (A) to measure the resistance (ohms).
Check the upper flow tube electrode by connecting one multimeter lead to the outer black wire in plug P-100 (5). Connect the other lead to the upper electrode. The upper electrode is in tube (6). The reading should be 60 20,000 Ohms. If there is no reading, an open in the circuit exists and the flow meter should be replaced.

Check the lower flow tube electrode by connecting one multimeter lead at the outer red wire in plug P-100 (5). Connect the other lead to the lower electrode. The lower electrode is inside tube (6). The reading should be 60 20,000 Ohms. If there is no reading, an open in the circuit exists and the flow meter should be replaced.
