Digital Display Window
Digital display window (11) is used to show different sets of data for several machine systems. The default readout of the display shows the hour meter for machines without a rear engine. The default readout of the display shows the tachometer for machines with a rear engine. The mode select switch is used in order to select the functions on digital display window (11) .Warning Categories
The Caterpillar Monitoring System provides three warning categories. The first warning category requires only operator awareness. The second warning category requires an operator response. The third warning category requires immediate shutdown of machine systems.Warning Category 1
In this category, the alert indicator flashes. This category alerts the operator that no immediate action is required, but a machine system needs attention soon. Failure of these systems will not endanger the operator. Failure of these systems will not cause serious damage to the machine components. The following indicators can be illuminated with Warning Category 1:
Parking Brake (7)
Charging System (8)
Power Train System (9)
Hydraulic System Failure (10) Warning Category 2
In this category, the alert indicator flashes and the action lamp flashes. This category requires a change in machine operation or maintenance to be performed for a machine system. Severe damage to components can occur. The following indicators can be illuminated with Warning Category 2:
Fuel Temperature (1)
Torque Converter Oil Temperature (6)
Power Train System (9)
Hydraulic System Failure (10) Warning Category 2S
In this category, the alert indicator and the action lamp flashes and the action alarm sounds at a steady rate. This category requires an immediate change in machine operation. Severe damage to machine components can occur. The following indicators can be illuminated with Warning Category 2S:
Power Train System (9) Note: A Warning Category 2S will occur for the following systems:
Engine over-speed for the tractor
Engine over-speed for the scraperWarning Category 3
In this category, the alert indicator and the action lamp flashes and the action alarm sounds at a pulse rate. This category requires an immediate safe engine shutdown. Injury to the operator and/or severe damage to machine components can occur. The following indicators can be illuminated with Warning Category 3:
Air Pressure (2)
Engine Oil Pressure (3)
Secondary Steering (4)
Engine Coolant Temperature (5)
Parking Brake (7)
Charging System (8)
Power Train System (9)
Hydraulic System Failure (10) Note: Power Train System (9) will illuminate when all of the following conditions are true:
The tractor engine is running.
The transmission control is not in NEUTRAL.
The scraper engine is not running.Indicators
