Introduction
This instruction gives the procedures, modifications (machining), and parts required to remove the original fan drive shaft and to install 9S-6703 Fan Shaft.Parts Required
Illustration 1 shows 7C-6554 Fan Belt Drive Group: 1P-9143 Fan Bracket Assembly (1). Orientation of 3B-8485 Hydraulic Fitting (2).
Illustration 2: 1P-9143 Fan Bracket Assembly (1). 9S-6703 Fan Shaft (3). 5B-5812 Dowel (4). Tapped holes (5). Side (A). Dimension 6.0 0.8 mm (.24 .03 in) (B). Dimension 95.2 0.5 mm (3.75 .02 in) (C). Side (D). Side (E).1. Remove 7C-6554 Fan Belt Drive Group from the engine. (See Illustration 1.) Refer to the Service Manual for the disassembly procedures.2. Remove grease fitting (2).3. Remove 5B-5812 Dowel (4) from side (D).4. Press out 9S-6703 Fan Shaft (3) from 1P-9143 Fan Bracket Assembly (1).5. Position new 9S-6703 Fan Shaft (3) in side (A) of 1P-9143 Fan Bracket Assembly (1). Alignment of threaded holes (5) with the four hole bolt pattern is not required.Press fan shaft (3) into fan bracket assembly (1) to depth (C) of 95.2 0.5 mm (3.75 .02 in).6. Drill a 8.7 mm (.34 in) hole through fan shaft (3) from side (E).7. Drill and ream a 9.340 0.013 mm (.3677 .0005 in) hole to a depth of 23.0 1.5 mm (.91 .06 in) from side (D).8. Install 5B-5812 Dowel (5) in side (D) to depth (B) of 6.0 0.8 mm (.24 .03 in).9. Install grease fitting (2) in side (E). When re-assembling 7C-6554 Fan Drive Group replace 5S-2106 Seal.10. Install 7C-6554 Fan Drive Group. Refer to the Service Manual for installation procedures.
