Valves
Illustration 1 g06164900
View of grease zerks
There are two different types of valves used in the distribution system.
Main distributor valve
Secondary valveNote: All valves contain an adapter at the inlet with a grease zerk for diagnostic purposes.Note: All valves are “Progressive” in architecture meaning that each point is lubricated after the other. This allows for full system monitoring since one blocked line will allow restricted flow through entire system. This restricted flow is then identified by the sensor attached to the main distributor. This ensures minimal pin seizure events.Valve Functionality
The progressive distributor is based on distributor panels that are connected together by tie rods. Individual units are sealed with O-rings.

(C) PistonThen, the dosing piston (C) (refer to Illustration 3) is progressively pushed and the lubricant delivered to outlet 3. After the piston (C) is fully pushed to the left, the lubricant is moved to the left side of the delivery piston (A) (refer to Illustration 4) and moved from the right pressure chamber of the delivery piston (A) to outlet 4.Subsequently, the delivery pistons (B) and (C) are pushed and the lubricant delivered to outlets 5 and 6 in the same fashion as 2 and 3.

(C) PistonAfter the delivery piston (C) is fully pushed to the right, the lubricant is moved to the right side of the delivery piston (A) (refer to Illustration 5) pushing the lubricant out of the left pressure chamber of the delivery piston (A) to outlet 1. A new progressive piston distributor cycle then begins. The described function repeats itself as long as lubricant is supplied to the progressive distributor.Main Distribution Valve
The main distributor valve is supplied by the “Main Supply Line” from the pump. This valve contains the proximity sensor that tracks the “Strokes” of the main valve piston. The internal valve pistons serve as “flow directors” rather than “injectors.” The Main Distributor divides the supply of grease from the pump to the secondary valves.Secondary Valves
The secondary valves receive grease supply from the main distributor valve and deliver grease at the allotted quantity to each grease point downstream.
