Installation Procedure

Look at the grapple. Check mounting bracket (1) that is installed on the upper jaw. When the grapple has a mounting bracket for the quick coupler, refer to the Quick Coupler Operation and Maintenance Manual for specific instructions.
Align the bolt holes in mounting bracket (1) with the bolt holes in the upper jaw of the grapple. Install 14 bolts (2) and secure mounting bracket (1) to the upper jaw. Refer to the Service Manual, "Mounting Bracket" for the proper torque.

Lower the stick until the pin bore at the end of the stick is aligned with the lower mounting pin bores of the mounting bracket. Install pin (1) and secure the pin.
Extend the bucket cylinder or retract the bucket cylinder in order to align the pin bores of power link (3) and mounting bracket (2). Install pin (4) and fasten the pin.

The pin bore in stick bracket (5) for push bar (6) should be cleaned.
Raise the stick. Extend the bucket cylinder until the pin bore of mount (5) and the pin bores of push bar (6) are aligned. Install pin (7) and fasten the pin.
Lubricate all of the fittings before you operate the grapple.Removal Procedure
Close the jaws of the grapple.

Move the grapple until the grapple is close to the ground.
Stop the engine.
Remove mounting pin (1) for push bar (2) .

Start the engine. Raise the stick until the grapple is positioned upright on the ground. The jaws of the grapple should be closed.
Stop the engine. Cycle the controls in order to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system.
Remove pin (3) from power link (5) .
Start the engine. Retract the bucket cylinder.
Stop the engine. Cycle the controls in order to relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system.
Remove pin (4) that connects the grapple to the end of the stick.

Start the engine. Move the stick away from the grapple.
After the grapple has been removed, coat all of the bushings in the pin bores with grease.
