Park the machine on a smooth, level surface.
Shift the transmission direction control switch to the NEUTRAL position.
Lower the bucket or the work tool to the ground.
Engage the parking brake.
Place blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.

Steering Frame Lock
(1) Steering frame lock in LOCKED position
Install the steering frame lock.
Allow only authorized personnel on the machine. Keep unauthorized personnel off the machine and in clear sight of the operator.
Shut off the engine.Note: This calibration procedure can be performed without a running engine.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.Procedure for Setting the Values of the Reduced Rimpull Selector Switch
Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.Prevent possible injury by performing the procedure that follows before working on the machine.

Connect the laptop computer to the service connector (3) in the cab. The service connector is located on the right side dash panel.Note: There are three variable reduced rimpull settings that may be changed by using Cat®ET or by using VIMS. Each setting is adjustable between 35% and 95%. However, the software will only allow a new value to be programmed if the new value maintains the order of the current setting.Note: The maximum reduced rimpull setting of 100% may not be changed.
Open the software program (Cat® ET). Select the "Transmission 992K" or "Transmission 854K" from the "ECM Selector" menu.
Select the "Service" menu item from the toolbar. Select the "Configuration" menu item.
The reduced rimpull settings are near the bottom of the screen. Highlight the setting to change. Click on the "Change" button in the bottom left of the screen. Click the "Yes" button.
Enter the new value for the reduced rimpull setting. Click the "OK" button.
The value of the reduced rimpull setting for the "Position 1" switch has been changed.
Repeat Steps 2 through 6 for each of the reduced rimpull switches that require a change.
Close the software program (ET). Shut down the laptop computer. Disconnect the computer from the service connector in the cab.
