Information:
This example of an operator using the PMS will help you see how the system works. Most truck loads will not require all of the operations described here. The PMS is a tool that will help the operator load trucks accurately, and an experienced operator will be able to monitor the truck loads with few reweighs.Starting the Loading Operation
The operator begins a FOUR pass truck loading cycle, after cleaning up the pile, by first pushing the CLEAR switch to clear the display and get ready for the first bucket load.First Bucket Load
1. The operator loads the bucket and lifts it continuously, while keeping the engine speed up, and traveling from the pile to the truck. 2. Just before the bucket reaches horizontal, the system begins to weigh the load and the display will show dashes. 3. As the bucket reaches the top of the lift, the display will show a numerical figure as shown. This figure would indicate that the bucket payload is 11,100 pounds (11.1 x 1000).The reweigh light is off indicating that a good weight has been taken, then the load can be dumped in the truck.Second Bucket Load
1. The operator loads the second bucket and lifts it while traveling to the truck. 2. The display shows dashes until the lift is complete and the bucket payload is calculated and displayed as shown above. 3. THREE seconds after the bucket weight is displayed, the truck weight is displayed. The truck weight is the sum of the first bucket weight and the second bucket weight.Third Bucket Load - Reweigh Light Comes On
1. The operator loads the third bucket and lifts it.This time the operator unintentionally stops lifting, momentarily, before bringing the bucket on up to the dump height. Since the lift motion stopped during the weighing process, the REWEIGH light turned on as shown above. 2. The operator performs a stationary reweigh by pushing the REWEIGH switch. After remaining stationary for about SIX seconds, the new bucket payload is displayed and the operator dumps the load in the truck. Again, the display of the new bucket load is followed by display of the recalculated truck load.Fourth Bucket Load - Operator Reweighs Partial Load
Bucket Weight.
Total Truck Weight.1. The operator loads and lifts the bucket for the fourth time. The display shows the bucket load weight and the truck load weight. 2. The operator sees that this load will bring the truck weight above the 45,000 pound limit for the truck. The operator dumps some of the bucket load back into the pile without lowering the lift arms. The operator performs a stationary reweigh by pushing the REWEIGH switch. After about SIX seconds, the bucket weight is displayed. 3. The first weight for this bucket load is automatically replaced by the reweigh weight, to obtain the correct truck weight.Finishing the Loading Operation
4. Now that the truck is loaded, the operator stores the truck weight and clears the display by pushing the STORE switch. The WLPMS is ready for the next truck load.
