All 3208 Direct Injected Naturally Aspirated (DINA) Engine arrangements use the 9N728 Camshaft Group and the 9N487 Valve Mechanism Group. The 9N728 Camshaft Group uses a "standard" lift cast iron camshaft. The 9N487 Valve Mechanism Group uses slipper followers and "standard" push rods. These engine arrangements use a single valve spring with each valve.
Some 3208 Direct Injection Turbocharged (DIT) Engine arrangements, up to and including 168 kW (225 hp), use the 9N6609 Camshaft Group and the 9N6617 Valve Mechanism Group. The 9N6609 Camshaft Group uses a "high lift" cast iron camshaft. The 9N6617 Valve Mechanism Group uses slipper followers and heavy duty push rods. These engine arrangements use a double valve spring set with each valve.
