Removal Procedure
Start By:
Separate the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Seperate".

Note: Use a pry bar to slide front idler (1), the recoil spring assembly and the hydraulic track adjuster out of the track roller frame. However, if the guides in the track roller frame are rusted or there is an accumulation of dirt or rocks in the guides, the unit must be pulled out.
Attach suitable straps in order to reposition front idler (1) .
Pull front idler (1), the recoil spring assembly and the hydraulic track adjuster forward. Do not remove the assembly completely from the track roller frame.

Attach a suitable lifting device to the front idler (1) and the recoil spring assembly.
Slide the front idler, the recoil spring assembly and the hydraulic track adjuster out of the track roller frame as a unit. The weight of the unit is approximately 589 kg (1300 lb).

Rotate the front idler, recoil spring assembly (2), and the hydraulic track adjuster. Leave the suitable lifting device attached.
Install the front idler partially into the track roller frame. Leave the four bolts that hold the recoil spring assembly to the front idler exposed.

Fasten a suitable lifting device to hydraulic track adjuster (3). The weight of hydraulic track adjuster (3) is approximately 52 kg (115 lb).
Remove setscrews (4) that hold the hydraulic track adjuster to the recoil spring assembly.
Remove the hydraulic track adjuster.

Attach a suitable lifting device to recoil spring assembly (2) .
Remove bolts (5) that hold recoil spring assembly (2) to the front idler.
Remove recoil spring assembly (2). The weight of recoil spring assembly (2) is approximately 279 kg (615 lb).

Attach a suitable lifting device and a hoist to front idler (1). Remove front idler (1) from the track roller frame. The weight of front idler (1) is approximately 245 kg (541 lb).
