limp home mode switch provides a limited machine functionality that will place reduced stress on the machine. When this mode is activated, the proportional reducing valves still receive power from the ECM. The ECM is not bypassed. If the ECM FAILS, the limp home mode is inoperative. When the limp home mode switch is turned ON, certain power train functions behave differently. The functions are listed below:Note: The limp home mode may in some instances be referred to as the "backup mode".
The parking brake will not be engaged.
The oscillating axle will not be locked unless the brake pedal is locked and the armrest is raised.
The creeper speed is always OFF.
The travel activation solenoid/travel pilot pressure solenoid is always ON.
The travel alarm is cancelled after 10 seconds.
The travel speed is set to LOW and the travel speed switch is deactivated.
The implement lockout is not allowed.
The material handling lockout is not allowed.
