A     1P-0510     Driver Group     1    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.Note: Lubricate the internal components with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install dowels (19) in the manifold. Install the dowels into the bores so that the dowels are 5.0 0.5 mm (0.197 0.020 inch) above the surface of the manifold.
Use Tooling (A) to install two sleeve bearings (18) in the manifold. Install the bearings into the bores so that the bearings are 1.52 0.25 mm (0.060 0.0010 inch) below the surface of the manifold. Install the bearings so that the bearing joints are 30° 15° from the centerline, and toward the oil passage as shown in Illustration 1.

Install driving gear assembly (11) .
Install driven gear assembly (17) .

Use Tooling (A) to install two sleeve bearings (16) in cover assembly (10). Install the bearings into the bores so that the bearings are 1.50 0.25 mm (0.059 0.0010 inch) below the surface of the manifold. Install the bearings so that the bearing joints are 30° 15° from the centerline, and toward the oil passage as shown in Illustration 3.
Install O-ring seals (15) in position on cover assembly (10) .

Install cover assembly (10) in position on the manifold.
Install bolts (14) .
Install O-ring seal (13) .
Install key (12) in the driving gear assembly.

Install gears (7) on the driving and the driven gear assemblies.
Install dowels (8) in body (9). Install the dowels into the bores so that the dowels are 5.0 0.5 mm (0.197 0.020 inch) above the surface of body (9) .
Install body (9) on the cover assembly.

Install O-ring seals (2) to manifold (1) .
Install four bolts (3) .Note: After assembly, the transmission charging and torque converter scavenge pump must turn freely by hand.End By: Install the transmission charging and torque converter scavenge gear pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Transmission Charging and Torque Converter Scavenge) - Install".
