CROSS REFERENCE FOR DJB SAFETY PROGRAMS, 1803, 4303, 5068 U-90 A-50 AU-52 B-17 C-74 E-61 O-60 safety Effective August 1, 1985 Caterpillar dealers should submit warranty claims for safety reworks previously issued by DJB to Caterpillar. A Caterpillar PIP number has been assigned to each of the DJB Service Instruction numbers. See the chart which follows. Also, a "9VA0" prefix must be used with the DJB serial number in all correspondence and inquiries. An example of this is DJB 6108 should be referred to as 9VA06108, 6404 should be referred to as 9VA06404, etc. The "9VA0" prefix should be used with all trucks which have the DJB trademark. Later trucks that have the Caterpillar trademark will have different serial number prefixes. PIP No. DJB Service Instruction No. PI1045 024 PI1044 026 PI1041 027 Check SIMS, Product Information System (PIS), Worldwide Information System (WIS) or Subsidiary Office to determine which DJB trucks in your area have open PIP's. Use the prefix "9VA0" with the serial number when making any inquiries: After the rework has been complete, submit a SIMS report. Put the appropriate PIP No. in the part number field and 7751 in the group number field. If you determine a unit requires a PIP, see the appropriate DJB Service Instruction for the rework procedure. See the time allowed in the appropriate DJB Service Instruction. Parts will be paid at 100% of dealer net and labor at sell rate. Make the claim to Caterpillar using our PIP No. and the "9VA0" prefix with the DJB serial number. Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. Make every effort to complete this program as soon as possible.
