Check for isochronous operation.
Install a jumper between terminals 13 and 14 of the load sharing module.
Operate the engine. Apply the load.Expected Result: The problem has been corrected.Results:
OK: Repair the wiring or the switch. STOP.
NOT OK: Go to 2.
Check engine operation.
Operate the engine.
Observe speed while you are applying the load.Expected Result: Droop occurs near the full load point only.Results:
OK: It is possible that the engine is not producing the horsepower. It is also possible that the engine is being overloaded. Verify that the engine is within load limits. Refer to engine Service Manual, Service Procedures, "Engine Performance Check".
NOT OK: Go to 3.
Check for faulty engine control.
Disconnect the load sharing module.
Load the engine as a single isolated unit.Note: A PWM signal will have to be provided to the electronic engine control in order to control the speed of the engine. A 9X-9591 Electrical Converter and a 122-9458 Potentiometer can be used in order to provide this signal.Expected Result: The problem has been resolved.Results:
OK: Check the load sharing module for defects. STOP.
NOT OK: The speed continues to decrease with load. Check electronic engine control. Check the engine governor. STOP.
