Refer to Table 1 for the "Air/Fuel Ratio Dynamic" setting. Engines that are not in the serial number range that is shown in Table 1 do not require adjustment. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, SENR1028, "3406C Engine for Caterpillar Built Machines", "Fuel Ratio Control Adjustment" for the adjustment procedure.

Mark out the former value for the "Air/Fuel Ratio Dynamic" (A/F Ratio Dynamic) Setting on the original information plate. The information plate is located on the top of the valve cover.
Stamp the new value for the "Air/Fuel Ratio Dynamic" Setting on a new 121-0173 Information Plate. Also stamp the new 121-0173 Information Plate with all the engine information from the original information plate. Refer to Illustration 2.
