1. Use Tool (A) to remove three oil filter elements (2) from the oil filter base.2. Remove the bolts that hold elbow (1) and elbow and adapter (3) to the oil filter base.3. Remove twelve bolts (4) and remove oil filter base (5) from the engine. The following steps are for the installation of the oil filter base.4. Put the oil filter base in position on the engine and install twelve bolts (4).5. Put elbows (1) and (3) in position on the end of the oil filter base. Install the bolts that hold them.6. Put a light coat of clean oil on the seals of three oil filter elements (2).7. Install the oil filter elements following the directions that are on the oil filter elements.8. Typical Example1. Remove elbow (1), support (2) (if it was removed with the oil filter base) and adapter (3) from the oil filter base assemblies.2. Remove cover (4), gasket (5), spring (6) and plunger (7) from each of the oil filter base assemblies.3. Remove the bolts that hold base assemblies (8) together.4. If necessary, remove the stud from each of the oil filter base assemblies. The following steps are for the assembly of the oil filter base.5. If the studs were removed from the oil filter base assemblies, put 9S3263 Thread Lock on the tapered end of the studs. Install the studs in the oil filter base assemblies and tighten to a torque of 80 14 N m (60 10 lb ft).6. Put the gaskets in position between oil filter base assemblies (8). Install the bolts that hold them together.7. Put gaskets and elbow (1) and adapter (3) in position on the base assemblies. Install the bolts that hold them.8. Install plunger (7) and spring (6) in each of the base assemblies.9. Put gaskets (5) and covers (4) in position and install the bolts that hold them.10. Put support (2) in position on base assemblies (8) and install the bolts that hold it in place.End By:a. install oil filter base
