Later ARC'S and Current ARC'S can communicate with two different service tools. The two service tools are the Electronic Control Analyzer Programmer (ECAP) and the Electronic Technician (ET). The ECAP or ET perform troubleshooting and programming functions. The troubleshooting and programming functions perform the same functions as the ARC'S display and the service switches. The ET or the ECAP will display the tattletale information and the histogram information. Also, The ECAP or ET connects to the EPTC II diagnostic connector or to the engine service connector. Refer to the Tool Operating Manual, SEHS9343 for more information on the ECAP. Refer to the User Manual, NEHS0685 for more information on the ET.Troubleshooting the ARC system requires additional information from the machine service manual. The electrical schematic and the Operation and Maintenance Manual are required as support material. The electrical schematic for the ARC is at the end of this manual. In order to accurately determine the machine that is being diagnosed, see the Electrical System Schematic in the machine Service Manual. When the troubleshooting procedure instructs you to Repair The Harness use the Electrical System Schematic in the machine Service Manual to trace the circuit.
