Install the wheel chocks.

Remove the cotter pin. Loosen nut (2) that holds the ball stud and steering link (1) in position. Do not remove nut (2) at this time.

Typical example
Position Tooling (B) in the steering joint. Attach a suitable restraining device to Tooling (B), grease hose assembly (3), and fitting (4). Strike Tooling (C) with a hammer until the ball stud is loose. Remove Tooling (B) and the suitable restraining device.
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the remaining end of steering link (1).

Position Tooling (A) under steering link (1). Secure steering link (1) to Tooling (A) in order to support the weight of steering link (1). The weight of steering link (1) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).
Remove nuts (2).
Remove steering link (1) from the machine.
Loosen clamp (6) and remove socket assembly (5). Repeat for the other end of steering link (1).

Remove seal (10) from ball stud (11). Use a screwdriver to remove ring (7) and cover (8).
Position the socket in a suitable press. Press ball stud (11) and outer race (9) out of the socket.
Repeat Steps 8 and 9 for the remaining ball stud. Installation Procedure

Install ball stud (11) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten nut (2) to a torque of 1360 N m (1003 lb ft).
