Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the Engine Oil Filter and Oil Filter Base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Filter and Oil Filter Base - Remove and Install". The information is in this manual.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove two O-ring seals (2) from engine oil cooler (1) .

Remove engine oil cooler (1) and gasket (3) from the engine.Installation Procedure
Note: Check the condition of the O-rings and the gasket. If any of these components are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
Clean the engine oil cooler and mating surfaces on the engine.

Install gasket (3) on engine oil cooler (1) . Install engine oil cooler (1) and gasket (3) to the engine.
