DRIVER-BEARING 1730984 - Caterpillar

1. Remove five bolts (1) and the washers. Remove crankshaft front seal assembly (2). 2. Remove O-ring seal (3) located behind the crankshaft front seal assembly. The following steps are for the installation of the crankshaft front seal assembly. Leave the shipping sleeve in place to install the crankshaft front seal assembly. The crankshaft front seal must be installed dry.3. Thoroughly clean the seal surface area on the crankshaft. Position O-ring seal (3) on the back of crankshaft front seal assembly (2) as shown in the illustration.4. Position crankshaft front seal assembly (2) over the crankshaft. Then, push the crankshaft front seal assembly into place dislodging the shipping sleeve. Install the six washers and bolts (1).End By:a. install vibration damper and pulley
