Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all harness assemblies, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. Plugs help to prevent fluid loss, and helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Install adapter assembly (8) into pump assembly (A) as shown. Tighten adapter assembly (8) to 150 15 N m (110 11 lb ft). Connect hose assembly (6) to adapter assembly (8). Route hose assembly (6) behind the hydraulic tank and towards the front of the machine. Refer to Illustration 3.
Position flange (4) with one seal (13) to pump assembly (A). Position hose assembly (5) with one seal (13) to flange (4). Connect flange (4) and hose assembly (5) to pump assembly (A) using two flanges (12), four washers (17), and four bolts (20).
Loosen existing four bolts, four washers, and two flanges (B). Remove and discard 5H-4020 cover and 4J-0522 seal from pump suction line.
Connect the opposite end of hose assembly (5) to the main pump suction line as shown using bolts washers and flanges loosened in step 3.

Route hose assembly (6) as shown. Secure hose assembly (6) to tube assembly (C) using spacer (2), clips (14) and (15), grommet (16), washer (21), and bolt (22) .
Install support assembly (3) to the hydraulic tank using two washers (17) and two bolts (18). Secure hose assembly (6) to support assembly (3) using clips (14) and (15), grommet (16), washer (21), and bolt (22) .
