Valve stack for a machine that is equipped with a ripper and with a VPAT blade (1) Blade lift cylinders (2) Quick-drop valve (3) Blade tilt cylinder (4) End plate (5) Ripper lift control valve (6) Blade angle control valve (7) Blade tilt control valve (8) Blade lift control valve (9) Inlet manifold (10) Ripper cylinder (11) Control lever for the ripper (12) Control lever for the blade (14) Pressure reducing valve (15) Accumulator (16) Tank and filters for the hydraulic oil (17) Hydraulic pump for implementsThe implement hydraulic system controls the blade, or the ripper (if equipped). The hydraulic system is a load sensing, pressure compensated system. In a load sensing, pressure compensated system, oil flow does not change according to the load conditions. Cylinder speeds remain constant under all load conditions.

Hydraulic pump (17) is a variable displacement piston pump that is load sensing and pressure compensated. The pump provides oil for all implement circuits. If the implements are not activated, the pump destrokes to standby pressure. If an implement circuit is activated, the compensator valve on hydraulic pump (17) senses the load increase from the signal resolver network. The signal from the signal resolver network causes the pump to upstroke.

(11) Ripper Control Lever (12) Blade Control Lever (13) Implement Lockout SwitchBlade control lever (12) is used for operator control of the blade. Ripper control lever (11) is used for operator control of the ripper (if equipped). When the operator moves the blade control lever or the ripper control lever, an electric current is sent to the appropriate proportional control solenoid. The solenoid directs pilot oil that shifts the control valve in order to send pump oil to the appropriate hydraulic cylinders. The hydraulic cylinders move the blade or the ripper.Implement lockout switch (13) de-energizes the implement lockout solenoid on the manifold in order to block pilot oil. When pilot oil is not available, the implements are disabled.

(14) Manifold and reducing valve (15) AccumulatorManifold and reducing valve (14) supplies pilot oil to the control valves for the blade and the attachments. The manifold and reducing valve includes a pressure reducing valve, a screen, a relief valve, a check valve, and an attached accumulator (15). The accumulator and the check valve are used to maintain supply pressure during momentary drops in system pressure and for a short time after the engine is shut off.

Valve stack for a machine that is equipped with a standard blade and a ripper (4) End plate (5) Ripper lift control valve (7) Blade tilt control valve (8) Blade lift control valve (9) Inlet manifoldNote: The machine will have an angle control valve if the machine has a VPAT blade. The angle control valve is not pictured. The lift valve for the ripper will be located above the angle control valve. The valve stack has an inlet manifold (9) and an end cover (4). The valve stack can have as many as four control sections.
