Remove three bolts, washers, and spacers, in order to remove extension (R4) from the right rear fender of the machine. The inner most bolt on the extension uses a nut and washer on the fender side that will need to be removed.

Use three bolts (14) and washers (7) to attach support assembly (41) on the right rear of the machine. The inner most bolt on the support uses a nut (38) and washer (15) on the fender side that will need to be installed.Attaching the Fender Assembly to the Hinge Mounting Plate and Adjusting the Alignment

(W) Fully assembled RH rear fender with latch, hinge, and deflectors (9) 8T-4122 Hard Washer (21) 107-9403 Bolt
Use a suitable lifting device to lift the assembled RH fender into position. Use three bolts (21) and washers (9) to install the RH fender assembly to the hinge mounting plate previously installed. Do not tighten bolts (21) fully at this time. The bolts and washers are easier to install with the hinge in the open position. The bolts can then be adjusted through the slots when the hinge is closed.
Swing the fender into latch support assembly (41). Use hinge bolts (21) to adjust the height of the fender as necessary for proper closing. Tighten bolts (21) .

Setting even gap between fender and support assembly
Set the inboard position of the fender assembly by adjusting the bumper on support assembly (41). Adjust the bumper until there is an even gap between the fender and the support assembly and tighten the jam nut on the bumper.
Adjust rod assembly (35) to ensure that the latch will disengage when the rod button is depressed. Tighten the jam nut.
Grease the hinge. Check operation and readjust if necessary.

Assemble items (7), (8), and (13) onto cover plate (46) as shown in Illustration 40 for the right-hand fender.Note: Cover (46) will fit on both right-hand and left-hand fenders. Assemble knob (8) for the fender you are assembling.
