Weight: 74 pounds 33 kg.
Information:
start by:a) remove final drive
The wheel must be clear of the ground.
1. Use tooling (C) and lift the rear of the scraper until there is approximately 2 in. (51 mm) of clearance between the tire and ground. Install tooling (A) under the frame and lower the scraper until tooling (A) holds the weight of the scraper.2. Install a block under the outside edge of the tire to hold the weight of the tire. 3. Remove one of the bolts that hold the ring gear to the hub and fasten tool (B) and a hoist to the hub.4. Remove bolts (1), retainer (2) and the ring gear and hub. Weight of the ring gear and hub is 180 lb. (81 kg). 5. Remove bolts (3), locks and retainers that hold the ring gear to the hub. Remove the ring gear (4) from the hub. Weight is 80 lb. (36 kg).Install Final Drive Gear And Hub
1. Put ring gear (1) in position on the hub and install retainer (2) and the locks and bolts that hold the ring gear to the hub. 2. Fasten tool (B) and a hoist to the ring gear and hub. Put the ring gear and hub in position on the axle housing. 3. Install retainer (3) without shims. Use four bolts (4) with even spaces between to hold the retainer in place.4. Remove the block from under the outside edge of the tire.5. Turn the wheel, while the wheel is in rotation, tighten the four bolts in retainer (3) to a torque of 25 lb.ft. (35 N m) directly opposite each other in the bolt circle (cross pattern) one time only for each bolt.6. While the wheel is in rotation, tighten the four bolts in retainer (3) to a torque of 50 lb.ft. (70 N m) directly opposite each other in the bolt circle (cross pattern) one time only for each bolt. 7. Use tooling (C) to measure the distance from the retainer to the axle housing through the threaded holes. 8. Use an outside micrometer (5) to measure the thickness of the retainer at the two threaded holes.9. Find the difference between the two average measurements. This difference is the distance between the end of the axle housing and the retainer.10. Remove the retainer. Install enough shims between the axle housing and the retainer, so their thickness is .010 in. (0.25 mm) more than the distance found in Step 6.11. Install the retainer with shims.12. Turn the wheel. While the wheel is turned tighten the bolts that hold the retainer to the axle housing to a torque of 200 20 lb.ft. (270 25 N m).13. Lift the rear of the scraper with tooling (D) and remove tooling (A).end by:a) install final drive
