packets of as-built surface information, called snippets, can be sent to the office. The snippets for a single as-built surface can come from one or more machines. The office accumulates the snippets of information from all machines. Snippets can remain unsent on the machine. For example, when either radio contact is lost with the office, or when the machine is shut down, snippets are left on the machine. The following setting is associated with as-built surfaces:"Snip Enable" - Used to configure the on-board software to transmit terrain updates (snippets) to the officeThis setting must be set up for each type of as-built surface that is required in the office. Each setting defines the as-built surface type.
