Install bearing and plug (16) into brake housing (4) .

Repeat Step 1 for the opposite side of brake housing (4). Install bearing and seal (15) .

Apply lubricant to the seal. Install brake lever (5) into brake housing (4) .

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Install spring (13) onto piston pin (12).
Install spring (13) and piston pin (12) into brake housing (4) .

Install Tooling (B) into brake housing (4) .

Install plug (10). Apply force to Tooling (B) by turning plug (10) clockwise.

Rotate the brake housing. Install piston (14) into the brake housing and onto the piston pin.

Install retainer pin (11) into piston pin (12) .Note: This will secure a portion of piston (14) to the brake housing.
Repeat Steps 4 through Step 9 for the remaining piston pins.

Release tension on plugs (10) in brake housing (4). Remove Tooling (B). Install plugs (10) .
Measure the thickness of the plates and the discs.
The thickness of the discs should measure 2.10 mm (0.082 inch) to 2.25 mm (0.088 inch).
The thickness of the plates should measure 1.54 mm (0.060 inch) to 1.66 mm (0.065 inch).

install brake housing (9) and the O-ring seal into position.
Install brake hub (7). Install plates and discs (8) into position on brake hub (7). Alternate plates and discs. Use Tooling (A) in order to install retaining ring (6).

Install assembled brake housing (4) and the O-ring seal.

Install plate (1) onto brake housing (4). Connect cable assemblies (2) and (3) onto brake lever (5) .
