Monitoring System Faults
The monitoring system will indicate the status of the generator when you enable the generator.Green - Generator ON.Red - Generator cannot start due to low hydraulic oil temperatureYellow - Reset the generator enable switch to start the generator.System Operation Description:The ground fault indicator provides early detection of insulation breakdown. Early fault detection permits the repair of the equipment before serious damage can occur. Early detection and repair of a ground fault can save both money and time. Early detection is especially important for the generator and the magnet. Typically, the normal insulation resistance of cables, generators, and magnets exceeds one million ohms (>1 Megohm). Use a megohmmeter that is rated for 500 VDC to measure the resistance. Lower repair costs and longer equipment life can be realized by repairing the magnets and generators before the insulation resistance is down to 0.05 megohm.When in lift mode, this indicator will begin to illuminate when the insulation resistance to ground of the negative stud is starting to deteriorate. The indicator will glow brightly when the insulation resistance to ground has decreased to 0.05 megohm.

(21) Controller HarnessTest Step 1. CHECK THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF THE MAGNET FOR A SHORT TO GROUND.
Ensure that the machine is in the "Lift" mode.
Press the "Drop" switch on the LH joystick before proceeding.
Before making any adjustments to the generator the engine must be shut off and the main disconnect switch on the controller must be in the off position. Personal injury can occur.Close all controller panel doors before the generator is started. Personal injury can occur.Never handle the leads to the magnet unless the generator is stopped and the main disconnect switch on the controller is in the off position. Personal injury can occur.
Switch the engine to the OFF position. Ensure that the generator is not rotating before proceeding.

Control Panel door handle
Open the disconnect switch with the door handle of the Control Panel. Then, open the enclosure door with a screwdriver with your left hand. Hold the external handle in the release position with your right hand. (See Illustration 3)

Disconnect both cables to the magnet from the positive stud (19) and the negative stud (16) in the magnet control panel.
Disconnect both cables at the positive terminal and the negative terminal of the magnet.
At the magnet, connect the ground lead of the megohmmeter securely to the frame of the magnet. Connect the other test lead to the negative terminal of the magnet. Check the resistance to ground.Expected Result:If the resistance is less than 0.05 megohm, the negative terminal of the magnet is grounded.Results:
