Family Of EnginesDescription of Change: The air start motor lubricator group is improved to avoid lockup of the air start motor. The former lubricator group contains a "flow deflector valve" to increase the velocity of the air flow past the lubricator jet. This valve/plug could come loose and travel downstream into the air motor causing the lockup.Adaptable To: The improved 2W2945 Air Motor Lubricator Group has the "flow deflector valve" removed. The improved air motor lubricator group is effective with 3606 (8RB337), 3608 (6MC257), 3612 (9RC50), 3616 (1PD24) Engines. On earlier air motor lubricator groups the flow deflector can be removed. Once removed, the group will need to be readjusted to work correctly without the valve. See Operation and Maintenance Manuals for procedure.
