Removal Procedure
Start By:
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release" in this manual.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the hydraulic oil tank is 175 L (46 US gal).

Remove hose assemblies (2) and (3).
Remove nuts (1). Remove gear pump (4).
Remove nut (5). Remove gear (6), gasket (8), flange (9), key (10), and the O-ring seal.
Use a suitable press to remove bearing (7) from gear (6).
