1 1 8B-8255 Lip Type Seal Lip type seal should be oriented to keep grease in the bearing compartment.
Procedure to apply grease:
1. Pack both bearings full with grease using the bearing packer.
2. Apply 5.5 gram (0.193 ounce) of grease between the inner bearing and the lip seal before installing the lip seal into the hub.
3. Lubricate the sealing lip of the lip seal lightly with the grease prior to installation into the hub.
4. Coat the spacer with 42.3 gram (1.48 ounce) of grease across its length.
5. Do not fill fan adapter with grease.
6. Do not pump grease into the assembled drive group through the pipe thread port.
7. Rotate the assembled fan drive group 10 times to distribute the grease.
2 200 gram (7.0 ounce) 459-2264 Grease
3 1 8T-4195 Bolt Torque to 55 10 N m (40 7.3 lb ft).
4 1 8T-4178 Bolt Torque to 55 10 N m (40 7.3 lb ft).
5 1 7X-7890 Bolt Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to threads.
