Heat exchanger has been removed for photographic purposes only.1. Remove bolt (1) from the clip, and disconnect connector (2).2. Remove speed/timing sensor (4).3. Follow the wire from speed/timing sensor (3) and disconnect the connector.4. Remove speed/timing sensor (3). The following steps are for the installation of the speed/timing sensor.5. Check the condition of the O-ring seals on the end of the speed/timing sensors. If the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Install the O-ring seals on the end of the speed/timing sensors.
The No. 1 piston must be at either top center of the compression stroke or top center of the exhaust stroke. After electronic speed control installation the electronic ignition timing must be recalibrated. See the topic, "Calibrating Electronic Ignition Timing with the Timing Adapter Tool Group and the ECAP" in the "Systems Operation Testing And Adjusting" module, Form No. SENR6508.
6. Install speed/timing sensor (3). Tighten it to a torque of 50 5 N m (37 4 lb ft). Connect the electric connector.7. Install speed/timing sensor (4). Tighten it to a torque of 50 5 N m (37 4 lb ft). Connect electric connector (2).8. Position the clip, and install bolt (1).
