The Series LC generator uses a field excitation system to regulate the output voltage of the generator. The AVR will monitor the output voltage of the generator. The AVR automatically adjusts the current in the field excitation system in order to maintain the correct output voltage. The excitation system can be configured with one of the following methods:
Shunt
AREP
PMGThe different methods of field excitation are described below.
