Torque converter lockup clutch and solenoid valve (A) Pressure tap for lockup pressure (1) Lockup solenoid (2) Harness connector for lockup solenoid
Disconnect electrical harness at connector (2) for lockup clutch solenoid (1) .
Using a 2-pin sure seal connector, two alligator clips and two 16-gauge wires approximately 4.5 m (15 ft) long, make a jumper harness. Connect the clip ends of the jumper harness to the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the machine battery. The connection will supply + 24V to activate the lockup solenoid.
Remove the plug at pressure tap (A). Install Tooling (F) at the location of the removed plug.
Use Tooling (B) to connect to Tooling (F) .
With the parking brake engaged, start and run the engine at low idle rpm with the transmission in NEUTRAL.
Connect the connector end of the jumper harness to the connector of the lockup solenoid (1). Observe the gauge. Refer to 1 for the correct pressure setting.
Disconnect the jumper harness from the lockup clutch solenoid (1). The pressure on the gauge must be 0 kPa (0 psi).
Stop the engine. After the pressure is correctly set, remove Tooling (B) and Tooling (F) .
Fit the plug at pressure tap (A) .

Problem: The oil pressure is not 0 kPa (0 psi) when the lockup clutch solenoid is deactivated
Probable Cause:
Selector piston (3) is stuck
Spring (10) is weak or broken
Shuttle valve (9) is stuck
The lockup clutch solenoid is not operating correctly. Perform the test in Testing and Adjusting, "Solenoid Valve - Test"Problem: The oil pressure is 0 kPa (0 psi)
This test will show the following conditions if the conditions exist:
