Engine News SEBD9922, 23 December 2013, "A New Prelube Solenoid Valve is Used in Certain G3500 Petroleum Engines". Disregard the previous article, effectivity has been added.ReferenceRefer to Special Instruction, REHS9204 for the installation procedure of the new solenoid valve group.Description of Change: The new prelube solenoid valve has a two-way design replacing the previous three-way design. The new two-way design, along with mounting the valve vertically, reduces the chance of an air/gas leak.Adaptable To: The new 450-6188 Solenoid Valve Gp replaces the original 338-5071 Solenoid Valve Gp for the engines listed below. The new solenoid valve group is adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers listed above.Table 1 contains the effective serial numbers.
