This guideline can be used to find the part numbers of clutch plates. This guideline gives the specifications needed to the machine the reaction faces for Caterpillar power shift transmissions.Reaction Faces - The surfaces of clutch housings, pistons, and other parts that are in contact with the outer disc assemblies of a clutch.This guideline should be used with Reuse And Salvage Guideline, SEBF8257, "Procedure to Salvage the Slots for the Pin and Holes for the Reaction Dowel in Transmission Clutch Plates, Pistons, and Housings" for the correct location of speed and directional clutches in the different transmissions.When used again in the same application, clutch parts that can be reused according to this guideline can be expected to give normal performance until the next overhaul.
