At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the fill cap on the hydraulic oil tank only when the engine is stopped, and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
2. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system by slowly loosening the fill cap located on top of the hydraulic oil tank. 3. Remove nine screws (1) that fasten cover (2) to the console. 4. Put identification marks on four hose assemblies (5) for installation purposes. Disconnect the four hose assemblies from the propel control valve and the automatic speed control valve. Cap and plug immediately.5. Disconnect electrical connector (3).6. Put identification marks on the two wires connected to neutral/start switch (4) for installation purposes. Disconnect the two wires from the neutral/start switch. 7. For alignment and adjustment purposes, mark the location of knob (7). Remove screw (6), and remove knob (7) from the automatic speed control valve.8. Remove four bolts and nuts (8) that hold the automatic speed control valve and propel control valve (9) to the cover. Remove the automatic speed control valve and the propel control valve as a unit from the cover. 9. If necessary remove two roll pins (10) from knob (7).10. Remove O-ring seal (11) from the knob (7). Check the O-ring seal for damage or wear and replace if necessary. 11. Remove neutral/start switch (4) from automatic speed control valve (13).12. Remove two tubes (14) from automatic speed control valve (13) and propel control valve (15).13. Remove three bolts and locknuts (12), and separate the automatic speed control valve from the propel control valve. Do not reuse elastic filled locknuts (12) for installation of the automatic speed control valve and the propel control valve. The used locknuts should be discarded and replaced with new parts. For installation of the propel control and automatic speed control valves, reverse the removal steps.
